Social return on investment (SROI) should be considered for measuring social and environmental value.
Thousands of dollars spent on ambulance transportation, Emergency Room visits, cost of an average stay in a correction facility, crime cost by violation, and justice system resources will be saved.
SROI measures change in ways relevant to the people or organizations that experience or contribute to it, assigning monetary values to represent social, environmental, and economic outcomes.
We will eliminate or reduce the following:
High health care utilization (frequent use of emergency health systems and longer hospital admissions)
Frequent experiences of violence, exploitation, conflict, and abuse
Involvement with child protective services
Mental health issues
Substance abuse issues
Physical health issues
Experiences of trauma
High risk pregnancies
More frequent encounters with the justice system
